PERSONAL BEST

The Mars/Jupiter square on June 24 will feel a lot like that moment when you auditioned for the soccer team or school play and got cut. You know you put your everything into try-out but it wasn’t enough to make the grade. So do you pack up your things and quit the arena? Or do you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and vow to compete another day? Whatever the disappointment – be it a personal rejection, a project’s refusal, or a cherished balloon being burst it’s important to remember that victories are grand but fleeting and it’s the defeats that are life-changing and character building. Good sportsmanship wasn’t invented by the winners, but by those who had to accept defeat gracefully. Whether this becomes grist for resentment or motivation for a comeback is all up to you.
